Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors invest an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programs are located inside these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained substantial health care instruction with a stress on conditions involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to treat concerns ranging from simple conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical instruction which supply them the expertise needed to conduct surgery on those concerns that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and avoid numerous problems which the feet typically encounter.
