Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors invest approximately a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry programs are located inside these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained thorough medical training with an emphasis on concerns involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to address issues ranging from conventional afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more obscure such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical education which provide them the skill necessary to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and avoid many troubles which the feet usually experience.
