Our podiatrists invest about ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes lie inside these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained thorough medical training with an emphasis on complications involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to handle concerns extending from typical conditions for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more sophisticated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which supply them the experience needed to perform surgery on those issues that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and defend against countless troubles which the feet frequently encounter.
