Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. They devote around 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired extensive healthcare training with a main focus on concerns concerning the feet and ankles. They are skilled to address difficulties ranging from general problems for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical training which furnish them the experience required to carry out surgery on those concerns that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent many troubles which the feet routinely experience.
