Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend approximately ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired extensive medical instruction with an importance on conditions concerning the feet and ankles. They are instructed to address problems ranging from commonplace ailments like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more puzzling for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which give them the experience necessary to conduct surgery on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against many issues which the feet normally experience.
