Foot Institute Podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in reality quite a number podiatry programmes are located within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained extensive medical instruction with an emphasis on complications involving the feet and ankles. They are studied to care for problems varying from regular conditions for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more challenging for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical education which provide them the experience needed to conduct surgery on those issues that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of countless conditions which the feet generally encounter.
