Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They invest an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in fact various podiatry programs are located within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained extensive medical instruction with a concentration on issues involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to address concerns extending from usual ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more sophisticated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical education which provide them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid numerous troubles which the feet commonly experience.
