They spend an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programmes are located within these academic institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received comprehensive health care training with a stress on complications involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to deal with complications extending from familiar disorders like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical instruction which supply them the expertise vital to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other activities.
