They invest about ten years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in reality several podiatry programs are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received significant medical training with a stress on complications involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to deal with complications ranging from basic disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more challenging for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical education which supply them the skill crucial to perform surgery on those issues that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and protect against a large number of complications which the feet routinely encounter.
