Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors invest about a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and actually many podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have received extensive healthcare instruction with a focus on conditions regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are instructed to manage problems extending from typical conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical education which furnish them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Foot doctor to develop shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and protect against many issues which the feet usually experience.
