Our podiatrists devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programs are contained inside these institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.
At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained significant health care instruction with a stress on issues regarding the feet and ankles. They are educated to treat problems varying from normal conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
