Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and as a matter of fact quite a number podiatry training programs are located within these schools. Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained wide-ranging health care education with a stress on concerns concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to treat conditions ranging from common ailments like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which provide them the experience needed to perform surgery on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and avoid a large number of conditions which the feet frequently encounter.
