Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend around a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry programmes lie inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received encompassing medical training with a stress on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are trained to treat problems ranging from common afflictions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more sophisticated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical instruction which give them the prior experience crucial to perform surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Foot doctor to develop shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and prevent many problems which the feet typically encounter.
