Our doctors invest about a decade in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry training programs are contained inside these schools. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received comprehensive health care education with a concentration on conditions regarding the ankles and feet. They are skilled to treat problems varying from common ailments like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more sophisticated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical instruction which give them the prior experience essential to carry out surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and defend against many complications which the feet normally encounter.
