Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. They devote about ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained substantial health care training with a concentration on conditions regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to manage problems ranging from standard ailments such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more intricate such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which provide them the experience needed to perform surgery on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous conditions which the feet typically experience.
