Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. They devote an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received encompassing healthcare training with an importance on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are skilled to care for complications ranging from usual problems for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more obscure for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical education which furnish them the skill vital to conduct surgical treatment on those issues that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and minimize the risk of countless troubles which the feet generally experience.
