Our podiatrists spend approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes are located within these schools. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.
At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired extensive healthcare education with a stress on problems regarding the ankles and feet. They are trained to address issues ranging from normal ailments like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
