Foot Institute Doctors put in an average of a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received considerable health care education with an emphasis on concerns involving the feet and ankles. They are trained to care for conditions stretching from regular afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more obscure for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which provide them the skill essential to execute surgical treatment on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and defend against countless conditions which the feet commonly encounter.
