Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located inside these schools. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained substantial medical instruction with a focus on difficulties concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to treat problems stretching from normal disorders for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical education which supply them the experience essential to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and help prevent numerous problems which the feet typically encounter.
