Our doctors invest around ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and actually various podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained wide-ranging health care training with an emphasis on issues regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to handle issues ranging from simple ailments for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more puzzling including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have substantial surgical education which give them the prior experience necessary to conduct surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems enables a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and prevent countless conditions which the feet regularly experience.
