Foot Institute Podiatrists devote an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry training programs are located within these schools. At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received encompassing health care instruction with a concentration on complications involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to care for issues ranging from conventional afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical training which furnish them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems enables a Foot doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of countless issues which the feet typically experience.
