Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists put in an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programs are contained within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained encompassing medical instruction with an emphasis on problems concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to handle problems ranging from typical conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical instruction which furnish them the skill vital to perform surgery on those problems that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Foot doctor to develop shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of many conditions which the feet regularly encounter.
