Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists invest an average of a decade in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in reality several podiatry programs lie inside these schools. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained thorough medical education with a main focus on complications involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to treat concerns ranging from normal conditions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical instruction which supply them the practical experience necessary to perform surgery on those troubles that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and minimize the risk of numerous problems which the feet routinely encounter.
