They invest approximately a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained comprehensive medical training with a main focus on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to care for difficulties ranging from common afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more sophisticated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical training which supply them the practical experience vital to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against many conditions which the feet usually encounter.
