They devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received substantial medical training with an emphasis on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to deal with difficulties extending from standard ailments such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more sophisticated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical instruction which provide them the prior experience necessary to execute surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.
Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or carry out other tasks.
