Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Airdrie focus on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received encompassing healthcare training with an emphasis on problems involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to manage problems ranging from typical conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical training which give them the practical experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and avoid countless conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
