Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. They devote about 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and a number of podiatry programs lie inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained considerable medical training with an attention to on problems involving the ankles and feet. They are instructed to treat conditions stretching from commonplace conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more obscure for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical education which give them the prior experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait deviations makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and protect against numerous problems which the feet regularly experience.
