Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They spend about a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and various podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have gained extensive medical training with a stress on complications regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to address difficulties varying from regular afflictions for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which supply them the expertise vital to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and help prevent many complications which the feet commonly encounter.
