Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists spend about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles standard medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry training programs lie within these academic institutions. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have received encompassing healthcare instruction with an emphasis on concerns pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to manage conditions varying from conventional conditions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more intricate including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical instruction which provide them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities enables a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and prevent many problems which the feet commonly encounter.
