Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Airdrie concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in reality many podiatry programs lie inside these schools. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received comprehensive health care training with an importance on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to deal with problems extending from normal ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more puzzling including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical instruction which give them the experience required to perform surgery on those issues that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems enables a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and prevent a large number of troubles which the feet typically experience.
