Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programs are located within these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained wide-ranging medical instruction with a stress on problems involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are instructed to handle problems ranging from normal ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which supply them the experience necessary to carry out surgery on those conditions that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and help prevent countless issues which the feet usually experience.
