Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors put in an average of ten years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in reality numerous podiatry programs are contained inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have obtained comprehensive medical education with a focus on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to handle problems varying from standard disorders such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical instruction which give them the expertise required to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait irregularities facilitates a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against many troubles which the feet typically experience.
