Foot Institute Doctors invest approximately a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in reality quite a number podiatry programs are located inside these schools. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received significant healthcare training with an emphasis on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to address difficulties stretching from conventional conditions such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more sophisticated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical training which supply them the skill essential to execute surgery on those complications that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and prevent many complications which the feet frequently experience.
