They invest about a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in point of fact various podiatry programmes are contained inside these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained extensive healthcare instruction with a concentration on issues involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to address problems ranging from familiar conditions such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more complex such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical training which give them the experience needed to execute surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait problems makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and help prevent countless complications which the feet routinely experience.
