Our podiatrists spend an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in reality many podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received thorough healthcare training with a concentration on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to manage issues stretching from basic conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical instruction which furnish them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems makes it possible for a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of troubles which the feet typically experience.
