Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programmes are contained within these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received substantial medical training with an emphasis on issues involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are skilled to address concerns ranging from conventional problems such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical instruction which give them the expertise necessary to perform surgery on those issues that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other activities.
