Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They devote approximately a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired thorough healthcare training with a focus on complications pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to care for problems ranging from standard problems for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which give them the experience crucial to perform surgery on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks.
