Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend approximately 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are located within these institutions. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have acquired extensive health care training with a main focus on issues concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to address issues stretching from commonplace problems for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more intricate for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical training which furnish them the experience needed to execute surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks.
