Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists invest around a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in reality a number of podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received encompassing medical instruction with an importance on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to address problems stretching from regular disorders like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which furnish them the experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatric doctor to develop shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and defend against many complications which the feet generally experience.
