Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists put in around 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and in fact many podiatry training programs are located inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received extensive medical education with a concentration on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to treat complications stretching from general ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical instruction which supply them the skill necessary to perform surgery on those concerns that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and avoid many issues which the feet usually experience.
