Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend an average of a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and several podiatry training programs are contained inside these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained thorough medical training with a stress on concerns involving the feet and ankles. They are educated to treat concerns ranging from usual ailments such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more perplexing such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical instruction which supply them the expertise needed to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities.
