Our podiatrists invest an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in reality several podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received substantial health care training with a main focus on concerns concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to address problems stretching from typical conditions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical training which give them the experience crucial to carry out surgery on those concerns that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities facilitates a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and protect against a large number of troubles which the feet generally encounter.
