Our podiatrists put in about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in fact a number of podiatry programs are contained inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received thorough medical instruction with a main focus on concerns involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are taught to treat problems ranging from commonplace disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical training which furnish them the experience essential to execute surgery on those issues that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems enables a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of many complications which the feet regularly experience.
