Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and a number of podiatry programs are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained comprehensive medical education with a stress on complications regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to treat problems stretching from general problems for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical education which furnish them the experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities.
