Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Airdrie concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists invest approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and many podiatry programs are located inside these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained substantial healthcare training with an emphasis on complications pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to treat conditions ranging from familiar disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical training which supply them the skill essential to carry out surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of numerous conditions which the feet frequently experience.
