Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors put in approximately a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and many podiatry training programs lie inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained extensive medical instruction with an importance on conditions regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to care for complications ranging from conventional ailments like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have substantial surgical training which give them the experience needed to conduct surgical treatment on those troubles that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and help prevent a large number of complications which the feet normally encounter.
