Foot Institute Podiatrists spend an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have received significant medical instruction with a concentration on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to treat conditions ranging from typical ailments such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which supply them the prior experience required to perform surgery on those issues that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and prevent countless issues which the feet commonly experience.
