Foot Institute Podiatrists invest an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs lie inside these academic institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained thorough medical training with an importance on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to treat concerns extending from standard afflictions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical training which provide them the experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities empowers a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and defend against numerous complications which the feet frequently encounter.
