Foot Institute Podiatrists spend around ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact many podiatry programmes lie inside these schools. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received extensive medical instruction with an importance on difficulties pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to treat conditions stretching from standard ailments such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more complex such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical training which provide them the prior experience needed to conduct surgery on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and reduce the chances of countless problems which the feet generally encounter.
