Foot Institute Doctors devote about ten years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in reality several podiatry programmes are located within these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have received wide-ranging healthcare training with a stress on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are taught to manage complications ranging from basic afflictions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical training which give them the skill vital to conduct surgery on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and avoid countless issues which the feet usually experience.
